Gapyeong is a nature-rich region shaped by mountainous landscapes, tourism, and distinct local communities. This project establishes a comprehensive public design framework toward 2030, integrating local identity, everyday quality of life, tourism, and sustainable development across the county.
Jaeyoung Myung contributed to public design research, guideline development, and standard design, analyzing public design trends, policies, urban characteristics, existing plans, and public design conditions. He translated these findings into practical design directions and guidelines and was responsible for bringing the project through its final stage to completion.
A major part of Jaeyoung Myung’s role was contributing to the development of 27 standard public facility designs for Gapyeong, including taxi shelters, security lights, information boards, and wayfinding signs. The standard designs were developed as an integrated system for transportation, convenience, and information facilities, creating a consistent design language that could be applied throughout the county.
In the final stage, Jaeyoung Myung was responsible for coordinating and completing the project deliverables, integrating the research, planning framework, guidelines, and 27 standard designs into a comprehensive public design system. The completed framework provides both strategic direction and practical design tools for future public spaces and facilities across Gapyeong.
